Nursing Assistant / Theatre Support Practitioner

An opportunity has arisen for a flexible, highly motivated individual to join the theatre teams at both North Tyneside General Hospital and the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, working with and supporting the Nursing and Medical team. Previous theatre experience is not essential as there is a comprehensive training programme in place; however, previous experience in a care environment is essential.

Main Duties of the Job
1. Support qualified staff in the provision of care to patients in the operating theatre, incorporating clerical and cleaning duties.
2. Work with qualified theatre team members to assist in the safe provision of services to the patient.
Job Responsibilities
1. Assist qualified nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality direct and indirect patient care.
2. Provide assistance and support to patients, carers, and the multi-disciplinary team.
3. Maintain high clinical standards.
4. Help maintain a clean and safe ward environment.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* ECDL or equivalent
Experience and Knowledge
* Caring experience
* Underlying knowledge of endoscopy area (i.e., preparation, cleaning of scopes)
