Secondary SEND Teacher Area: Northampton Salary: £34,000 - £45,000 per year Hours of work: Full time, 8:30am - 4:30pm Start date: January 2025 Contract: Permanent - no temporary phase Onsite Parking available We are looking for a Secondary Teacher to work in an Alternative provision supporting students with autism, ADHD and challenging behaviours. You may be supporting students on a 1:1 basis at times and teaching full class lessons throughout the day. Students are aged 11-16 and do show very challenging behaviours, so candidates must be able to manage this effectively. You will need to be very resilient and able to support a team of other teachers and staff who are aiming to improve the school for SEND and SEMH students. You will be considered for the role if you do not hold a teaching qualification but you MUST have experience with challenging behaviours and within a Primary or Secondary setting. The ideal candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS Have experience working with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities or social emotional and mental health Hold the relevant qualifications for a teaching position in schools (desirable not essential) Have references commenting on their teaching or tutoring work Be highly organised with excellent communication skills Have a professional manner in and out of school Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children Have excellent behaviour management skills Main responsibilities: Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning Supporting SEND children with their work Managing difficult behaviours Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom Working 1:1 with children Collecting evidence of children's work to support their assessment EMTEACH
