The Role
As the HSE Manager, you will lead the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs for the Derby site. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and company standards.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits, ensuring prompt corrective actions where necessary.
* Manage and mentor the health and safety team, driving improvements across the Derby site.
* Lead initiatives to enhance manual handling processes and manage risks related to hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS).
* Chair the Health and Safety Committee, promoting employee engagement and driving continuous safety improvements.
* Collaborate with internal teams to meet sustainability targets, particularly in waste reduction and resource management.
* Ensure thorough investigations of incidents and accidents, applying lessons learned across the site.
* Some travel to other UK sites may be required occasionally.
About You
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar HSE management role, ideally within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* In-depth knowledge of UK HSE legislation, with specific experience in manual handling and HAVS management.
* Proven ability to implement HSE systems and drive a strong safety culture.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
