We are seeking a skilled and experienced Band 6 Haematology Biomedical Scientist to join our specialist Haemostasis (Coagulation) team in Kent on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality laboratory testing and analysis to support the diagnosis and treatment of coagulation disorders and other haematological conditions. You must be HCPC registered with relevant experience in haematology and haemostasis within the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine and specialized coagulation tests, including clotting factor assays, thrombophilia screening, D-dimer analysis, and platelet function testing.
* Analyse blood samples for haemostasis investigations, providing detailed morphology assessments and validating test results.
* Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment specific to haemostasis, ensuring adherence to quality control protocols.
* Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of laboratory performance.
* Collaborate closely with clinical staff, providing technical expertise and guidance on haemostasis results.
* Follow relevant laboratory protocols, health and safety regulations, and quality management systems.
Requirements:
* HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist is essential
* Significant experience in a UK haematology laboratory, with specialist expertise in haemostasis/coagulation, ideally at Band 6 level
* Strong understanding of haemostasis techniques and quality control procedure
* Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to start immediately and commit to part-time hours (22.5 hours / 3 days per week)
