We have an exciting opportunity for a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Level 2 Caseworker to join our team covering the Boston and South Holland Locality.
About the role
SEND Level 2 Caseworkers manage a defined and complex caseload of children and young people with Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Plans, whilst also facilitating and coordinating the statutory EHC assessment process for children and young people (0–25-year-olds) within the timeline as set out by the SEND Code of Practice (2015). This includes ensuring appropriate services and provisions are provided to meet children and young peoples’ needs and help them to achieve the best possible educational, health and care outcomes.
SEND Level 2 Caseworkers are also responsible for any SEND Tribunals related to any child or young person on their caseload, and direct liaison with our dedicated Legal Team who represent the Local Authority within the Tribunal hearing.
This role involves working in partnership with children, young people, their families, professional agencies and the third sector, to develop, draft and write final needs led EHC plans, to achieve stated objectives, outcomes, and aspirations.
SEND Level 2 Caseworkers ensure the child, young person and their family can participate as fully as possible in decision-making.
This is a full time role covering the Boston / South Holland locality.

About You
The successful candidate will need to have:
1. A degree or equivalent in a Children’s Services related area, or substantial relevant proven ability in a previous similar role.
2. Significant experience of working with families, children and young people with complex SEN needs.
3. Extensive working knowledge, adherence to, and application of SEND legislation, including the Education Act (1996), the Children and Family Act (2014), SEN Code of Practice and Equality Act (2010).
4. The ability to deal with complex multi-faceted issues.
5. Sufficient knowledge and practice ability to take a case from assessment, service provision, review and to closure with minimum direction or support.
6. The ability to effectively chair and facilitate a range of meetings.
7. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
8. Excellent customer service skills, whilst demonstrating the ability to exercise tact and discretion when dealing with complex and sensitive cases.
9. Ability to think creatively within the resources available to lead and develop multi-agency solutions that meet the needs, objectives and aspirations of children and young people.
10. Ability to supervise staff.
11. A full UK drivers license due to travel requirements.
