Job Description Job Title: Project Controller- Working Pattern: 37 hours/ Days Working location: Derby Why Rolls-Royce? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Controller to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby, we’re a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority. The role will be to support the delivery of our £872 million In-Service Support Contract for the UK Nuclear Submarines Flotilla. This contract operates in the Services Delivery Business Unit (DBU); therefore the successful candidate will need to have a strong customer management focus, a proven track record in project delivery and the ability to operate in a complex environment within the submarines enterprise. The role will be working in the Safety Case Management team leading projects that directly deliver extensions, updates or improvements to the In-Service & Dreadnought NSRP safety case. This will include working closely with the engineering and technical areas to ensure that the requirements are correctly captured, the correct project controls are in place and then onwards management of progress of the work to delivery. What you will be doing: You will effective delivery of smaller, lower complexity packages of work. Accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time for a defined package of work. Working with a Technical Integration Lead to co-ordinate work across the different DBUs Create, facilitate & govern PM documents & artefacts. Report the status of assigned work in accordance with the requirements of the project. Manage and report variances to project baseline and report project Key Performance Indicators. Review project data, identify and report trends, highlight anomalies and propose corrective action if performance is outside specification. Ensure effective controls are implemented in accordance with the company management procedures to achieve the project success criteria. Accurate reporting to relevant stakeholders in accordance with the defined timescales. Facilitate and manage risk and opportunity activities. Equivalent industry experience preferable or Degree level qualification. Proven experience in project management. The role will involve dealing with customers and stakeholders at all levels and excellent communication skills are therefore a prerequisite. Attained APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent; or can demonstrate equivalent PM knowledge. Working towards membership of Association of Project Management (AMAPM or MAPM).
