Claxton are looking to hire a Project Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their Facility in Aberdeen, the Project Engineer will undertake a variety of projects and will coordinate technical, commercial, administrative, and quality aspects of the assigned projects.
Duties
•Fulfilment of Project Management duties in respect of assigned projects in a pro-active manner, including regular interface with all stakeholders – clients, certifying authorities, colleagues, and contractors, as necessary.
•Clarifying scope and estimates with sales team during project handovers, revising as necessary and when accepted, controlling/monitoring costs and revenues to achieve target profitability of projects.
•Preparation of comprehensive programmes of work and equipment lists for assigned projects
•Responsibility for delivery of the products and services to clients on time, on quality and on cost for allocated projects
•Liaison with Claxton sales team to identify and respond to sales opportunities, assisting where required with preparation of bids and quotations for potential projects
•Preparation of variation requests for ongoing active projects
•Control and management of all commercial and technical aspects of assigned Projects
•Control and forecast project performance via the CTX management sheet, pulling in information from NAV and SharePoint as required. Accountable to understand project finance, identify variations and flag altering risk profiles as scope alters.
•Ensure NAV and CTX are in unison ahead of month end and support billing as required.
•Preparation of documentation for workshop activities to ensure all equipment and tooling is assembled / prepared to meet the scope of supply and time demands of the project, detailing all consumables / parts required such that Workshop Operations ensure these are available in sufficient time.
•Selection of the correct tools/equipment to fulfil operational requirements with the assistance of the Technical Director, Product Leaders and Line managers as required.
•Completion of all database / project process / technical reports / minutes of meeting documentation as per Company’s IMS procedures
•Liaison with the Design department and Product Leaders to ensure all engineering calculations are carried out to verify the suitability of procedures and equipment proposed to be used
•Monitoring/managing project performance and highlighting problem areas in good time to the Operations and Projects Manager
•Ensure all QA/ HSE and personnel issues that have been considered relevant to each project are fulfilled and completed
•Attendance to client meetings regarding project progress
•Attendance offshore to supervise and assure project execution and fulfilment, where contractually obliged.
Required
•Knowledge of engineering principles, practices and ISO9001 procedures.
•Offshore / Engineering Industry experience commensurate with the job requirements, including managing / supervising projects / personnel both onshore and offshore.
•IRM, decom, wells decom and/or bespoke builds experience required
•Good knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems
•Experience producing equipment lists and technical programs of work.
