Our client is a leading player in the Oil & Gas sector and is currently seeking a Construction Manager to join their team based in Runcorn. This is a permanent staff role with a hybrid working pattern and potential frequent travel to project sites. You will work within a resourceful and creative environment alongside a highly talented team.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Principal Contractor in accordance with CDM 2015 (Construction Design and Management) regulations, ensuring responsibilities are discharged correctly.
Support the Project Manager with the development of the programme to ensure all construction activities are planned and managed appropriately.
Support project QHSE to ensure the highest level of health and safety throughout construction activities.
Ensure construction risks are identified and managed to minimise project impact through reviews and client-specific safety meetings.
Manage construction information like records and drawings in accordance with Quality Management Systems.
Lead and manage the construction team and sub-contractors to deliver project objectives.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, particularly during construction stages.
Provide expertise and oversight during tender evaluations and oversee the development of construction estimates and budget management.
Provide construction support during commissioning phases as required.
Report regularly to the Project Manager and senior leadership on progress, risks, and issues.
Lead all construction-specific meetings, workshops, and discussions.
Job Requirements:
Extensive experience in EPC projects operating under NEC4 forms of contract, focusing on civil and construction projects.
Demonstrable experience in delivering complex construction projects, ideally within the Oil & Gas Industry, under CDM 2015 Regulations.
HND/C or higher in a relevant discipline such as construction or civils.
Proven ability to manage subcontractors and oversee site execution.
Strong understanding of Process Safety, including experience with Formal Process Safety Assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP, and HAZCON.
Accredited CSCS certification or equivalent.
SMSTS, SHEA Gas, and SCO 91 Certification (desirable).
APMP accreditation (desirable).
Temporary Works Coordinator certification.
An understanding of budget management and financial controls would be beneficial.
