Start Date: January 2025 Days & Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 4.00pm Recruiter: Rachael About this client/child: Vani (3) is a gorgeous, happy little girl, who will squeal with excitement, smile and giggle. She loves bright lights, sounds and music. She is completely captivated by her older brother Ajay (7) who equally adores his little sister. Ajay is incredibly smart with a very high IQ. He loves football, arts and crafts, especially, making things for his little sister. Vani is diagnosed with a rare gene disorder: CDD () and requires 1:1 dedicated support. She cannot crawl yet but can roll from one side to the other and move her arms, hands and legs around. Vani can also stand for a few minutes if placed in that position and supported around her waist. She will need support with feeding and all food will need to be mashed (with some textures). Vani also has very occasional epileptic seizures. Her seizures are tonic-clonic (non-convulsive), which means her entire body stiffens up for a few minutes. She will then try to make eye contact and will require reassurance through your voice and light touch to calm her down and lots of cuddles. The family are in the process of getting a specialist buggy and walking frame to aid Vani’s mobility. Overview of role: We are seeking an experienced SEN Nanny/Manny to join Vani’s family and support her development through engaging, interactive play. Vani attends a specialist pre-school three days a week, and you’ll handle her drop-offs and pick-ups (9:40 am–2:40 pm). During school hours, the family will need light household support, such as laundry, tidying, and loading the dishwasher. When Vani is not at school, sensory activities and play are key to her learning. Fun outings like swimming, trips to the park, or farm visits will be encouraged. During school holidays, you’ll spend time with Vani and her brother, Ajay, planning activities suited for both. Who this job would suit: This will suit an SEN Nanny/Manny who is very experienced working with toddlers/young children with SEN. You’ll be someone who is calm under pressure and can reassure Vani, especially when she’s having a seizure. Personality wise, you will be fun, playful and very organised. The family is keen to find someone with lots of creative ideas around activities and sensory play that will aid Vani's development. If you know your way around a kitchen that would be helpful as fresh and healthy meals are key Someone who speaks a second language and could teach Vanya and Ajay would be a bonus, but not a requirement.
