The role will liaise with the rheumatology department and carry out the day to day processing of homecare prescriptions, emails, queries and issues. The role will also involve supporting the dispensary with carrying out the final check as an accredited technician.
Main duties of the job
To support the Pharmacy Homecare Service, primarily Rheumatology, with the operational aspects of homecare services and ensuring that processes are followed in line with Trust, local and national guidance to ensure a safe, effective, timely and high-quality patient centred service is always provided.
To assist with the day-to-day processing of prescriptions and the administration involved from order creation through to checking documentation ready for invoice payment. To also then be able to pass invoices for payment via the CareFlow Medicines Homecare Invoicing Module (when implemented).
To work as an Accredited Checking Technician undertaking the final accuracy checking of prescriptions, and other dispensing duties.

Person Specification
* NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services and a BTEC in Pharmaceutical science (or equivalent qualification and underpinning knowledge)
* Current Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Accredited Checking Technician qualification or be eligible (1 year post qualification) and willing to work towards accreditation which will take up to a year to complete
* Knowledge of procedures, protocols and legal requirements governing homecare medicines
* Knowledge of CareFlow Medicines Management, the hospital pharmacy computer system
* Experience of invoicing and statements
