Teddington School is seeking an exceptional leader to join our highly successful team as Head of Business and Computing. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the strategic direction of these key subject areas within our school.
About Teddington School:
We are a large, inclusive 11-18 secondary school based in the leafy borough of Richmond Upon Thames, on the outskirts of London. In recent years, we have become the school of choice for our local community, known for providing a highly professional, friendly environment where students and staff can thrive.
Our 'Teddington Pillars' underpin our commitment to an excellent, well-rounded education for all students. We firmly believe that every child is entitled to an education that combines academic rigour, breadth of curriculum, and abundant opportunities - enabling them to leave us as healthy, globally-aware learners, fully prepared for their future.
While we are proud of our outstanding exam results, we know these alone do not make for a well-rounded person. At Teddington, we are dedicated to developing the whole child, with a wide range of enrichment activities beyond the academic curriculum.
The role:
1. Ensure excellent standards of teaching and learning across the subject
2. Take responsibility for the strategic overview of the department, including self-evaluation and the improvement plan
3. Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions
4. Develop the curriculum, schemes of work and assessment at all key stages
5. Create and share high-quality resources, promoting collaborative planning
6. Visit lessons and conduct formal observations across the department
7. Provide CPD opportunities for staff, including leading training as appropriate
8. Undertake performance management of department colleagues
The candidate:
We are seeking an exceptional individual with a passion for Business and Computing. You will have a proven track record of driving standards and securing excellent outcomes. With strong subject knowledge and pedagogical expertise, you will be able to model best practice and inspire your team.
Crucially, you will share our vision for a well-rounded education, committed to developing the whole child. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the school to create enriching opportunities that go beyond the curriculum.
If you are an ambitious, innovative leader who is excited to join our high-performing team, we would love to hear from you.
