Job overview
This is an apprenticeship over 3 years to support an individual to develop the skills and gain the relevant qualification to become a qualified Healthcare Scientist / Cardiac Physiologist. The individual will be supported to attend Manchester Metropolitan University and day release to complete a BSc in Healthcare Science which will be fully funded.
Main duties of the job
1. To develop the skills to allow independent practice, analyse, interpret & report a wide range of specialist tertiary cardiac procedures.
2. To develop the skills to support advanced specialist procedures as 2nd operator under the supervision of a Specialist, Advanced or Expert practitioner.
3. Actively participates in practical & theoretical training & development within the field of Cardiac Physiology.
4. Complete BSc in Healthcare Cardiac Science and become an independent practitioner.

Person specification
Meets All Essential Criteria
* 120 UCAS Tariff Points at A2 (Grades BBB) including at minimum grade C at A2 Biology (must include a Pass in Biology practical assessment) Human Biology or Grade C at A2 in Applied Science. GCSE grade C or grade 4 in English Language, Science and Mathematics.
* Can demonstrate a thorough understanding of Human Physiology.
* Excellent communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to keep accurate documentation. Competent in Microsoft Word and Power Point presentations. Organisation of self and others Leadership skills Ability to acquire & communicate knowledge in challenging environments High level analytical & judgement.
* Can demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cardiac Physiology.
* Has had work experience in Cardiac Physiology department/ Healthcare Can demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cardiac Physiology.
* Demonstrate Teamwork.
