Become a Health & Safety Coordinator Working within the H&S team, you’ll work closely with the Distribution Centre (DC) management team predominantly, but you’ll also support the wider business too. You’ll play an important role in creating and maintaining a “safety-first” culture through the creation, monitoring and review of policies and procedures which protect our colleagues and property. Your Mission Writing, reviewing and updating Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments and Toolbox Talks Carrying out health monitoring surveys e.g. night workers, maternity Assisting with actions raised during Health and Safety/Colleague Forums/Listening Groups, including being an active member of the company H&S committee. Collaborating with the Learning & Development team to support and advise on all on the job training. Monitoring colleague and employer adherence to safety policies and/or guidelines, reporting any risk/non-adherence as appropriate to the H&S Manager. Maintain the company H&S database (Assure) keeping it live and up to date. Completing and reviewing accident investigation/near miss reports, identifying areas for improvement Maintaining the H&S management system and keeping required physical records of all safety-related issues, making sure that corrective measures are taken. Organising routine training on health and safety matters e.g. First Aider, Fire Marshal, DSE, Manual Handling etc. Assisting in implementing and practicing effective Fire Safety arrangements Carrying out informal safety walks of the operation and office areas on a regular basis, ensuring PPE is being worn and addressing/reporting any unsafe practices.
