Maths Intervention Specialist - Full-Time Position in Levenshulme
Teaching Personnel is excited to recruit a Maths Intervention Specialist for an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This rewarding, full-time role starts in January and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance. The pay for this role is between £419.25 and £500 per week, depending on experience and qualifications.
This role is ideal for individuals who have a strong background in mathematics and a passion for helping students overcome barriers to their learning. You will work closely with students, teachers, and other staff members to deliver targeted maths interventions, supporting pupils to achieve their full potential in this critical subject.
Responsibilities
* Deliver Targeted Maths Interventions: Plan and deliver focused sessions to small groups or individual students who require additional support in maths.
* Identify Areas of Need: Work with teaching staff to assess students' learning gaps and design tailored intervention plans.
* Boost Confidence and Skills: Help students improve their mathematical understanding, problem-solving abilities, and overall confidence in the subject.
* Support Exam Preparation: Assist students in preparing for assessments and exams, offering strategies to approach challenging topics effectively.
* Monitor Progress: Regularly evaluate the impact of interventions and adjust strategies to meet the evolving needs of students.
* Classroom Support: Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with the wider maths curriculum and provide general support when required.
* Encourage Engagement: Use creative and engaging methods to inspire students and maintain their motivation to improve in maths.
Minimum Requirements
* Strong Maths Background: A degree in mathematics, a related subject, or a strong mathematical aptitude demonstrated through qualifications or experience.
* Experience in Education: Previous experience working with secondary school students, ideally in a tutoring or intervention role, is beneficial but not essential.
* Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and adapt your approach to suit different learning styles.
* Passion for Education: A commitment to helping students succeed and an enthusiasm for supporting their progress.
* Organised and Proactive: The ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate effective interventions independently.
* Team Player: A collaborative attitude to work effectively with teachers, parents, and school leaders.
