Building Surveyor - Complex works

The role:
* Working across a case load of major repairs and minor planned works for a Central / West London based Housing Association
* The role provides a maintenance surveying service that will entail, but will not necessarily be limited to; undertaking property surveys and inspections; drafting of schedules of works for complex, reactive repairs, project management of complex repairs, and quality assuring works undertaken by Contracors and our internal workforce.
* The post holder will ensure works orders are raised and completed in accordance with S guidelines. They will manage a caseload of minor planned repairs and/or disrepair claims in line with the pre-action protocol for housing disrepair.
* The role will entail regular pre and post inspections during the works and contribute to both the asset management strategy and estate improvement plans.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Recognised technical qualification or professional qualification in building/surveying, minimum BSc, MCIOB or MRICS
* Experience of preparing and supervising maintenance contracts
* A minimum of five years of experience in the maintenance of housing stock/responsive repairs
* Experience and knowledge of tendering and contractual procedures
* Good knowledge of building construction and maintenance
* Good knowledge and experience of building defect diagnosis
* Good knowledge of legal disrepair
* Good knowledge of damp and mould and its root causes
* Ability to work on site unsupervised, using professional skills and judgement to manage works/projects
