The role of the Compliance Officer is to administer and coordinate the internal activities required to ensure effective control of Health & Safety compliance. This will be coupled with supporting wider operational procedural compliance against policy, and in support of customer service, deliver against contract compliance.

Description
To communicate organisational policy to interested parties and stakeholders
Promote a culture of compliance and business best practice across the organisation
To provide "hands-on" support to internal service and production department personnel
To ensure a visual and accessible presence, liaising with all internal teams to always ensure H&S compliance
To work closely with external "compliance resource" for accreditation and certification
Undertake management system review audits against a range of standards for ensuring continued compliance and performance effectiveness, to include: ISO 9001 quality management system, BS 1090 / ISO 3834 - factory production control, ISO 27001 information security, ISO 14001 environmental management, ISO 45001 health and safety management, ISO 45501 (self-verification), ISO 17025 - laboratory calibration
To organise and chair "management review meetings". The responsibility of the Compliance Officer is to collate information and data received from departmental managers and ensuring that received provides the necessary evidence for ensuring compliance against the stated [procedure and or regulatory] requirements)
To organise and chair "health and safety" meetings, communicating incidents and taking minutes
To own and administer the CAR (Corrective Action Report) process, liaising with internal personnel, customers or suppliers
To ensure the risk assessments and method statements are up-to-date and information is accessible
To ensure the approved supplier files for contractors are up-to-date and information is accessible
To undertake final quality inspection of new goods due for delivery
To arrange and undertake site audits / post installation spot checks
To maintain the master "product" drawing and technical files
To arrange and maintain "coded welder" documentation and associated prolongation of the same
To be responsible for the maintenance of all lifting equipment (to include cranes, jacks, chains, slings, hoists etc).
To maintain external insurance certification for production plant and allied equipment (including welding plants)
To maintain and control the test weight register (and associated weight and other equipment calibration records)
To maintain inspection and supporting documentation is available and accessible for building security, fire alarm, fire extinguishersProfile
You should be able to multi-task, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
You should have an ability to understand complex issues and prioritise work with consideration to organisation and operational objectives.
You should be able to communicate effectively both verbally and when report writing, at all levels of the organisation and with customers & suppliers.
You should provide a positive and can-do contribution to members of the organisation.
You should have experience and track record of compliance against at least two of the above [ISO] standard requirements
You should have an engineering bias from a H&S manufacturing and or service sector environment
A practical understanding of conformity assessment and certification with experience in internal auditing
You should have an understanding or working experience of health & safety standards.
You should have an understanding or working experience of quality standards.
You should have an understanding or working experience of environmental standards.
You will have excellent administrative and IT skills, be proficient in Microsoft suite, particularly SharePoint.Job Offer
