Football Coach - Junior Football Academy PSC is seeking a dedicated and passionate Football Coach to join our esteemed Football Academy, specialising in training junior players. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in football coaching, a commitment to developing young talent, and the ability to inspire and motivate junior players. PSC was founded by Leigh Bromby, former premiership footballer, Academy Manager and Sporting Director at Huddersfield Town A.F.C. and works in partnership with Liam Cooper, Adam Clayton and Louie Coyle all current and former professional footballers. Working with PSC presents the opportunity to be involved in professional level coaching and offers possible pathways and mentorship to the professional game at club level. PSC operates across Harrogate, Leeds, Bradford and Hull. As such, we require a candidate with a full UK Driving licence. Hourly pay is depending on experience and level. Role Overview: As a Football Coach at our Junior Football Academy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs that enhance the skills, performance, and sportsmanship of our young athletes. You will play a key role in nurturing the potential of junior players, preparing them for competitive play, and promoting a love for the game. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive training programs that cater to the needs of junior players, focusing on skill development, tactical understanding, physical conditioning, and psychological preparation. Conduct regular training sessions, drills, and practice games, ensuring each player receives personalised attention and constructive feedback. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of individual players and the team as a whole, providing tailored coaching to address specific areas for improvement. Organise and oversee participation in competitive matches, tournaments, and leagues, ensuring players are well-prepared and adhere to the academys standards of conduct. Collaborate with other coaching staff to develop and refine coaching strategies, methodologies, and best practices. Monitor and evaluate player progress, maintaining detailed records of their development and performance. Communicate regularly with players parents or guardians, providing updates on progress, upcoming events, and any concerns. Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during training sessions and matches, adhering to health and safety guidelines and protocols. Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and developments in football coaching and youth sports training. Qualifications: Proven experience as a football coach, preferably with a focus on youth or junior players. Relevant coaching certifications, such as UEFA coaching licenses or equivalent. In-depth knowledge of football tactics, techniques, and training methodologies. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate young athletes. Demonstrated ability to create a positive and inclusive training environment. Passion for football and a commitment to the development and well-being of junior players. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate training schedules and matches. Preferred Qualifications: Experience playing football at a competitive level. First Aid certification and knowledge of sports injury prevention and management. Familiarity with child development principles and best practices in youth sports coaching. Develop and implement comprehensive sports programs and lesson plans that align with national curriculum standards and cater to the diverse needs and abilities of primary school children. Conduct regular physical education classes, sports training sessions, and extracurricular activities, ensuring each child receives appropriate guidance and support. Foster a positive, inclusive, and fun environment that encourages all children to participate and develop their physical skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Assess the physical abilities and progress of children, providing personalised feedback and setting achievable goals to enhance their development. Organise and oversee school sports events, competitions, and tournaments, ensuring all activities are well-coordinated and safe. Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to promote the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles. Monitor and maintain sports equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe, clean, and in good working condition. Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and best practices in physical education and youth sports coaching. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during sports activities, adhering to health and safety guidelines and school policies.
