Job Summary
We are the UK's leading manufacturer of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), operating from a purpose-built factory in Bradford, West Yorkshire. With over 30 years of experience supplying EPS for packaging, insulation, and construction applications, we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and services provided to our customers.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and administration. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in finance while contributing to the overall success of the company.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
* Maintain financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and receipts, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
* Support the processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions, including verifying invoices and processing payments.
* Conduct reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
* Process weekly and monthly payroll.
* Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
* Respond to queries from internal departments regarding financial matters in a timely manner.
* Proactively contact customers to ensure payments are received in a timely manner.
* Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and information as required.
Qualifications
* A degree or qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
* Previous experience in a finance or administrative role would be advantageous.
* Strong numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software packages is highly desirable.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently when required.
