Role: Senior Operations Manager
Salary: £76,000 per annum
Location: Midlands, Warrington & Coventry
Taskmaster are excited to be recruiting for a leading Wash Facilities company based in the North UK, they are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to join their group.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage & develop the Site Management team, working with the Director, Service Centre Operations Europe to implement the strategic vision for the sites.
2. Support the Site Managers in planning and delivering key initiatives to improve team performance.
3. Assist with operation deep dives on specific issues.
4. Leverage data, feedback, and other inspection mechanisms to understand the needs and specific opportunities for operational improvements.
5. Identify and prioritise performance gaps at the sites (e.g. cost, policy, workforce management), providing recommendations on performance improvement strategies.
6. Maintain clear, precise, and regular communication with all stakeholders including ongoing project status reports and capturing requirements from various stakeholders.
7. Ensure processes are scalable, with an appropriate level of quality and in line with target date.
8. Drive performance, surfacing issues across the sites, generating hypotheses and landing improvements.
9. Act as the focal Senior Manager in the UK when the Director of Service Centre Operations is overseas or absent.
10. Ensure personal development supports the succession plan both upwards and downwards.
11. Make purchasing decisions and approve Purchase Requisitions as defined.
12. Manage people decisions such as hiring, firing, and succession planning in line with the strategic plan.
13. Liaise with IFCO UK on customer-related topics – service issues and quality concerns.
14. Work autonomously or with a varied level of line manager support across differing locations and/or time zones.
15. Work in a matrix environment.
About You:
1. Extensive experience in manufacturing, operations, or other related experience.
2. Direct management experience in manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics environment.
3. Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and lean methodology.
4. Full employment life cycle experience – recruitment, performance management, terminations.
5. Extensive operations experience.
6. Experience in a warehouse setting.
7. Experience in supply chain.
8. Experience in management in both direct and matrix environments.
9. Bachelor’s degree in operations or logistics.
10. Strong analytical skills; problem solver.
11. Project management skills.
12. Ability to adapt to changing situations.
13. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
14. Proven planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and constraints.
15. Ability to travel as required.
16. Ability to work cross-functionally.
17. Knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
