Director of Safety and Security The Berkeley A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Director of Safety and Security to lead the Security team at The Berkeley. The Director of Safety and Security is responsible for all matters affecting the Safety and Security of the assets, guests and employees of The Berkeley & The Emory. The purpose of this role is to lead the Security team by maintaining the required standards of security, risk management, and Health & Safety (H&S). To protect and safeguard guests, employees and the hotels in relation to all matters involving security, crisis management, risk, loss and H&S. Main responsibilities of the Director of Safety and Security include, but are not limited to: Giving support to management and colleagues by protecting the hotels property and guests from damage, theft, fraud or other criminal activities. Encouraging a security consciousness throughout the hotel and to promote integrity, trust and high safety standards. Assisting Human Resources when it requires input on security matters. Liaising with outside agencies to assist in the hotels security e.g. the police, fire brigade, local authority etc. Assisting in contingency planning to deal with emergencies. Supervising the investigation of incidents and accidents that occur, ensuring that the correct reporting is completed (RIDDOR) and that all reports are communicated properly. Successful candidates will demonstrate genuine dedication to The Berkeley and show a commitment to protect the hotel assets, guests and colleagues.
