Contracts Manager – Education, Health, Leisure, Non Housing
Location: Manchester & Lancashire areas with Preston postcode office
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Package
Our client is a successful well established construction company who continually strive to deliver well for clients covering the Lancashire and Manchester area. They are a regional contractor with over 90 years’ experience of working on projects ranging from £500k to £10m in value.
They operate under a number of Framework Agreements carrying out Partnered Projects for the Public and Private Sector, principally focusing on the Education, NHS, Commercial and Leisure Sectors of the Industry. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team with an office in the Preston area.
Privately owned and stable they are looking for a quality, successful Contracts Manager that wants to work for a decent traditional main contractor.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the site team comply with company commercial policies and procedures.
2. Attend tender handover meetings and deliver prestart meetings to the site team.
3. Produce and analyse progress reports, updated costs and forecasts.
4. Chair and attend internal/external meetings; ensuring accurate records are made of any discussions and actions.
5. Ensure weekly reviews of progress, budget resources and forward planning are carried out.
6. Ensure effective Health & Safety is always met.
7. Organising employed labour, encouraging maximum productivity.
8. Liaising with architects, surveyors and clients.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Relevant experience in education, commercial and refurbishment projects with values between £500K to £5M.
2. Experience in both the management of Traditional & D&B Contracts.
3. Experience of working for a principal contractor.
4. Experience of Pre-Qualification and Tendering Process for a number of multi discipline projects.
5. Good knowledge of contract conditions, regulations, risk management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting.
6. CSCS Management Card, SMSTS, First Aid, Temp works etc.
7. Excellent people management skills with the ability to influence and mentor.
