The post involves all aspects of secretarial and administrative support to a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist and their team, as well as a Senior Manager.
This role requires an experienced Personal Assistant with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication abilities. The post holder will also need to take accurate formal minutes for prolonged periods and help coordinate all aspects of patient care, involving close liaison with Psychologists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and family and friends of the patient.
Main Duties of the Job
Arnold Lodge is a 102-bedded Medium Secure Psychiatric unit providing treatment and rehabilitation to mentally disordered offenders. The post requires excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages, and experience using databases is advantageous, although training will be provided on our electronic patient record system.
You will need to prioritise your workload to support the clinical team and communicate effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary team, other healthcare professionals, and relatives/carers of patients.
The ability to work on your own initiative, produce accurate work, be organised, diplomatic, flexible, and remain calm in all situations is essential.
Job Responsibilities
The post holder will have incidental contact with patients who may pose a risk to themselves and others and require treatment in a secure hospital.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
* Typing/word processing qualification to RSA/OCR III standard or equivalent skill level
* Administration procedures acquired through NVQ Level 3 or significant practical experience working with senior management, including complex diary management and decision making
Experience
* Relevant experience in providing high-quality administrative support to a clinical team/Senior Management Team
* Experience communicating with Senior Clinical/Senior Management staff in a large organisation
* Experience managing highly sensitive/confidential information; understanding of the Data Protection Act and Code of Confidentiality
* Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Database, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Ability to Audio Type
* Knowledge of medical, psychiatric, and legal terminology/CPA processes
* Experienced Minute Taker
* Previous NHS experience
Skills
* Ability to minute complex meetings (Senior Management level)
