Position Overview: CityAxis is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor/Project Estimator preferably with experience in using Eque2 and Evaluate software for its London-based office.
The successful candidate will assist in estimating costs, managing project budgets, and ensuring the financial success of construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to develop their skills and grow within our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Estimation: Assist in preparing initial cost estimates for construction projects, including labour, materials, sub-contractors and other expenses.
2. Budget Management: Support the Project Manager in preparing and managing project budgets and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Tender Preparation: Help prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities and specifications, and evaluate sub-contractor tender submissions.
4. Project Coordination: Collaborate with the project team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of cost estimates and financial reports.
5. Data Analysis: Analyse project data and provide insights to support decision-making and project planning.
6. Software Utilisation: Use Eque2 and Evaluate software to perform cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis tasks.
Qualifications:
1. Education: A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Experience: Previous experience in a similar role preferably with experience using Eque2/Evaluate software.
3. Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
4. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
5. Time Management: Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience:
1. Eque2 and Evaluate Software: Demonstrated experience in using Eque2/Evaluate software for cost estimation and financial analysis.
2. Construction Projects: Experience working on construction projects, particularly in the education sector or similar environments.
