Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Stores Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing accurate stock counts and be accountable for stock transactions. Assisting with inventory management, and ensuring that our stores areas remain well-stocked and organised. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work alone.
Responsibilities
1. Receiving all deliveries and checking the goods received, taking care to check quantity, quality and description match what was ordered.
2. Ensuring that all goods are booked in and out in a timely manner using Sage 200.
3. Reporting discrepancies in goods deliveries, both quantities and quality.
4. Using a forklift to pick up goods and load lorries as required.
5. Maintain inventory management system aimed at achieving zero stock outs of items.
6. Organizing collection and shipment of goods to required schedules, including preparing necessary paperwork for both domestic and international shipments.
7. Admin tasks as required.
8. Working with engineering and production departments to create & maintain accurate BOM’s on stock items.
9. Assist with stock control procedures and periodic stock-taking.
10. Keep the stores and warehouse in a clean and organised manner.
11. Develop and maintain key supplier relationships to ensure proper supply chain flow & conduct relevant market research as required.
12. Establish and maintain strong communications with all departments across the company.
13. Provide ad-hoc reporting to senior stakeholders on the status of customer orders.
14. Accurate recording of stock wastage.
15. Keeping records up to date on internal company databases and workflows.
16. Ad hoc light purchasing duties as and when required.
Experience
1. Experience in an ISO 9001 accredited company.
2. Strong communication skills.
3. Computer literate, i.e., confident using Word, Excel, Outlook.
4. Commercial awareness.
5. Forklift license is desirable, though we would pay for a license for the right candidate.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday- Friday
Place of work: Haydock, St Helens
