This contractor is dedicated to measuring and reducing their carbon footprint, which includes selecting the most sustainable remediation options on projects as well as company-wide initiatives such as recycling.
About the opportunity:
Due to company expansion, my client is recruiting permanently for a Senior Environmental Engineer / Design Manager. As a Senior Environmental Engineer / Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of environmental remediation projects. This role involves developing innovative remediation strategies, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and managing project teams. You will also be expected to collaborate with clients, regulatory stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver effective and sustainable remediation solutions. This role therefore requires strong technical expertise and project management skills.
General duties will include but not be limited to the following:
1. Develop comprehensive remediation designs and strategies for contaminated sites.
2. Prepare detailed Remediation Method Statement and other supporting documents.
3. Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
4. Support with the planning and management of remediation projects from conception to completion.
5. Support developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
6. Ensure all remediation activities comply with relevant UK environmental regulations and best practice.
7. Provide technical guidance and oversight during remediation activities.
8. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.
9. Oversee the implementation of remediation systems and monitor their performance.
10. Lead and mentor project team members and co-ordinate with sub-contractors to maintain quality standards.
About the requirements:
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be degree qualified in Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a relatable Civil Engineering/Engineering course. Furthermore, you must hold a minimum of 7 years of experience in the remediation industry, with a minimum of 3 years of design experience. Proficiency using GIS, AutoCAD, and Risk Modelling packages will be advantageous.
Due to project locations, you must hold a full UK driving license and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
About the benefits and rewards:
For this opportunity, professionals can expect to earn anywhere between £45,000 - £52,000 per annum; however, specific remuneration will depend on experience and suitability.
