Role: Mechanical Project Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
Location: (Leven / Cameronbridge)
The role is positioned in the Global Brands Supply, Project Engineering team providing Capital Project support to Manufacturing sites including distillation and spirits supply. The overall purpose of this team is to deliver capital expenditure projects. For this role this includes:
1. Development of requirement specifications in collaboration with other teams such as Operations.
2. Use specialist knowledge to deliver capex projects to correct technical specification.
3. Development of cost estimates and project schedules.
4. Managing efficient spend for capex projects.
5. Co-ordinating and managing external resources.
6. Manage the project lifecycle (end-to-end project delivery) including capital approval, maintaining accurate financial data including spend and forecast and project closure.
7. Manage construction activities and overseeing commissioning activities.
8. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental standards.
The role holder will have a chemical and/or process engineering background with experience implementing projects from cradle to grave. Benchmarking internally and externally to identify new technical insights to unlock performance pushing the boundaries to breakthrough performance.
Building and sustaining working collaborations with functional partners within malt distilling (Technical specialists, project engineering, risk & governance, procurement) to deliver comprehensive solutions to challenges.
Supporting continuous improvement and problem-solving activities by providing/utilising technical knowledge and experience presented in a logical and codified way utilising data analysis techniques and tools. Being a role model and champion, the use of data and analytics tools and systemic root cause problem-solving tools within Malt Distilling. Identifying need for multi-disciplinary problem-solving teams to address systemic problems.
Skills:
1. Project Management (including scope, cost, budget and timescales)
2. Experience in end-to-end project management is essential.
3. Complete ownership of project delivery with excellent positive stakeholder engagement and partnership.
4. Health & Safety Management & co-ordination of contractors under CDM 2015 regulations.
5. Ability to communicate effectively and proactively with customers, suppliers and internal teams regarding plans, products, issues, timelines and solution value.
6. Knowledge of PRA's and HAZOP/LOPA/SIL/SIS processes.
7. Knowledge and experience with DSEAR and PUWER compliance.
Education:
The role holder will have education and experience in Mechanical Engineering.
NEBOSH or similar H&S qualification (experience and knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations is essential).
End to end project Management.
Prince 2, APM or similar.
