Transpennine Route Upgrade
The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is the largest infrastructure project in the North, delivering a £10.7 billion programme of activities that is improving the railway between York and Manchester via Leeds and Huddersfield.
Brief Description
To manage and deliver consistent and effective communications strategies for key projects. To manage stakeholder issues effectively to protect and enhance corporate reputation and co-ordinate a broad range of stakeholder communication activities in line with Government & Corporate Affairs objectives.
This role is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive Health, Safety, Wellbeing, and Security function within a major programme. You will be responsible for driving and delivering the health and safety communication strategy for the TRU programme.

About the role (External)
Some of the key accountabilities of this role are:
1. Develop and implement communications strategy on projects which present reputational risks or opportunities for the business.
2. Produce and manage detailed communications plans.
3. Interface with key external audiences.
4. Build relationships and provide direction to senior project managers.
5. Provide guidance on all external communications activity.
6. Assist with delivery of corporate internal communications programme.
7. Check branding compliance with corporate policy.
8. Produce regular reports on all communications activities.
We need you to have:
Experience within communications and media
Excellent writing skills and ability to think creatively
Excellent influencing skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Thorough knowledge of the media and how it operates
It would be advantageous if you have:
Educated to degree level
An understanding of Health & Safety
A keen interest in emerging technologies and media
