What you’ll be doing
As Project Manager, you’ll oversee the successful delivery of a defined contract or work package, ensuring it aligns with the wider programme objectives. This includes planning and executing activities in line with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP), covering all aspects of scope, cost, quality, safety, and schedule. Maintaining accurate progress tracking, managing risks, and keeping stakeholders informed will be key to ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery.
The role involves close coordination with suppliers and contractors to resolve technical queries, manage contract changes, and ensure all deliverables meet nuclear safety standards. You’ll be expected to oversee manufacturing progress, address non-conformances, and ensure smooth logistics and scheduling. Utilising tools such as the Schedule Tracker, you’ll help maintain alignment with the overall project timeline and drive performance through accurate reporting and data-led decisions.
Beyond day-to-day delivery, you’ll champion continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and applying best practices across the team. You’ll be reviewing contractor schedules, and fostering strong working relationships across functions will be essential. This role also provides an opportunity to influence the wider programme through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and proactive problem-solving.
Who you are
You’ll have a strong track record of delivering complex projects in highly regulated environments. You’ll demonstrate exceptional project management, financial oversight, and change management skills, supported by solid numerical and analytical capabilities. Experience in handling commercial claims and contract negotiations is essential, and a background in engineering—ideally mechanical—will support your technical understanding.
You’ll have a proven ability to lead projects through their full lifecycle, from concept to handover, in technically demanding settings where safety, environmental responsibility, and security are paramount; ideally within the nuclear or a similarly regulated sector. Familiarity with centrifugal pumps, motors, and variable speed gearboxes, and the ability to communicate in French would be a desirable.
We’re looking for someone with excellent stakeholder engagement skills who can build strong relationships across all levels, including with contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies. Strong communication, facilitation, and influencing abilities are key, along with the confidence to manage cross-functional teams and keep project objectives on track through clear planning and effective leadership.
If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!
