Job Purpose
The Welfare Manager plays a vital role in promoting the wellbeing and safeguarding of students, ensuring they have access to the necessary support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The role involves working closely with students, staff, parents, and external agencies to provide pastoral care, intervention strategies, and safeguarding support.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Wellbeing & Support
* Act as a first point of contact for students experiencing personal, emotional, or social difficulties.
* Provide one-to-one and group support to students, offering guidance and signposting to additional resources when necessary.
* Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that prioritises mental health and emotional wellbeing.
* Develop and implement wellbeing initiatives to support students' overall health and happiness.
Safeguarding & Child Protection
1. Work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to ensure all safeguarding concerns are handled appropriately.
2. Identify and support vulnerable students, ensuring early intervention strategies are in place.
3. Maintain accurate and confidential records of safeguarding and welfare concerns in line with school policies and statutory requirements.
