The Role.
As a Material Planner you will assist the Category Controller in managing the supply of materials across all sites to meet both short- and long-term business needs. Your role includes ordering products efficiently, sharing material supply schedules with key stakeholders, and keeping operational reports and metrics up to date. You'll also maintain regular communication with suppliers to ensure they understand future demand.
Key Responsibilities:
* Material Procurement & Inventory Management Ensure the timely ordering of raw materials and components to meet production schedules while optimizing inventory levels to reduce waste and storage costs.
* Production Scheduling Support Work closely with production teams to align material availability with manufacturing plans, preventing delays and ensuring efficient workflow.
* Supplier Coordination Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitor lead times, and resolve any supply chain issues to avoid production disruptions.
* Forecasting & Demand Planning Analyse production forecasts and customer demand trends to anticipate material requirements and prevent shortages or excess stock.
* Data Management & Reporting Maintain accurate records of material usage, procurement data, and performance metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Criteria To Be Invited To Interview:
* Experience in a similar position.
* Experience in using MRP Systems.
* Experience in using Stock Control methods.
