Your role in elevating the East Midlands As PMO Lead: Programmes, you will be responsible for providing project and programme management services across the authority, as well as embedding those skills across the organisation. Working at the heart of our organisation in the corporate Programme Management Office, you will build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including workstream leads, to ensure the effective monitoring and tracking of projects and programmes and decisions are driven by the available data. Your experience of delivering complex projects and programmes to a high standard will be vital in this challenging role, as will your ability to utilise a range of methodologies to deliver the best results. Key responsibilities include: Assessment of the viability of EMCCAs programmes and projects prior to them becoming live Responsibility for providing best practice guidance to other teams, so they can ensure their projects are delivered on schedule and achieve the outcomes set down for a successful delivery Effective senior level engagement and building strong relationships across the Authority and its stakeholders Providing strategic direction to project teams as well as tactical guidance on handling of the day to day project operations and communications Monitoring and guiding the delivery of projects and programmes, including reporting their status to key stakeholders Reporting any major project discrepancies to the Corporate PMO on a timely basis so that corrective action can be agreed and implemented Creation of a safe PMO environment to coach, mentor and motivate other project and programme managers, and influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their work Your profile: Educated to degree level or significant equivalent experience in a PMOrelated role Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills and a robustly strategic mindset Experience of managing a range of complex projects including planning, structuring, leading and execution of projects and programmes of high risk and complexity Comfortable working in a fast-paced programme and stakeholder environment while effectively managing multiple and competing priorities Experience in the application of Project and Programme Management practical techniques to enable monitoring and control of multiple programmes and projects Ability to transfer knowledge and skills across the organisation and assist in communicating proposals in simple language to promote clear actions The practical experience to manage a safe and controlled project environment that teams feel safe to work within Excellent knowledge of project and programme management methodologies, as well as software and applications that can support good practice To apply: For more details on EMCCA, our rewards and benefits, and to apply, please visit: https://eastmidscareers.co.uk Closing date: 17th April
