Team Overview
Group Procurement is a function within Group Finance and has a global role to provide commercial expertise and support across the full supplier lifecycle.
Overview of Role
This role supports Group Procurement with developing, embedding, and enhancing our supplier governance framework. This includes delivering objectives related to supplier oversight, risk/regulatory compliance, and supporting Corporate Sustainability to deliver the Group's sustainability strategy.
The role is responsible for the analysis, monitoring, and evaluation of supplier metrics, as well as supporting and leading stakeholder and supplier engagement towards our sustainability goals and compliance activity. The role also supports facilitating analysis and compliance with regulatory obligations (e.g., internal and external reporting), policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
1. Collation and analysis of key supplier data including risk, contract performance, relationship, and sustainability metrics.
2. Deliver analytical, reporting, and business services across all areas of third-party risk management.
3. Support and lead development and maintenance of supplier oversight reporting capabilities and continuously improve performance and risk assessment governance and metrics.
4. Support, contribute to, and lead all required reporting updates both internal and external, e.g., Committee papers relating to third-party risk: regulatory reporting and sustainability reporting (TCFD, Modern Slavery statement, etc.).
5. Support the development of supplier due diligence processes, including financial crime, modern slavery, credit, information security, corporate responsibility, etc.
6. Support and contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of all tools and procedures utilized in the assessment, monitoring, and tracking of supplier risk and sustainability activities.
7. Work closely with internal reporting experts to create and deliver automated reporting wherever possible.
8. Ensure the maintenance of all required documents and procedures related to supplier engagement initiatives, e.g., modern slavery assessment, supplier maturity and carbon emissions tracking, annual due diligence reviews, etc.
9. Maintain the Outsourcing Register including the record of Business Owners, contracts, criticality, and associated due diligence activities.
10. Lead and assist projects that address specific third-party risk including supply chain sustainability issues and objectives across the Group.
11. Proactively look to embed third-party risk including sustainability into Procurement policies, processes, and projects.
12. Support client teams to provide supply chain sustainability-related content for external RFPs.
13. Point of contact for the latest procurement and sustainability initiatives.
Essential Skills / Experience
1. Excellent analytical experience in order to understand and interpret data and information, bringing insight.
2. Design and development of effective management information and reporting.
3. Experience of supplier segmentation and risk assessment including outsourcing and supplier management.
4. Demonstrable project management, coordination, and delivery experience to set objectives and demanding deadlines.
5. Understanding of supplier-related risks and opportunities including regulatory compliance and sustainability.
6. Excellent levels of communication, able to influence and persuade others, whilst building strong working relationships.
7. Coordination of internal and external communications related to strategic initiatives that impact the supply chain.
8. Interest in sustainability.
9. Excellent IT and numeracy skills, including advanced Excel skills.
10. Excellent organisation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
11. Demonstrable experience operating in a supporting role.
12. Flexible approach to work with an ability to adapt to change.
Desirable Skills / Experience
1. Experience of utilizing and managing procurement systems and tools.
2. Knowledge or awareness of sustainability-related issues such as climate, modern slavery, and minority suppliers.
3. Ability and experience coordinating due diligence activities across technical specialists (e.g., Operational Risk, Information Security, Credit Risk, Financial Crime, Legal) globally.
4. Technical experience of design and implementing contract database/supplier management systems.
5. Track record of global/regional delivery across complex environments.
