Integrated Neurology Administrator (Parkinsons Disease)
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust
We have an exciting opportunity to work within our Integrated Neurology Administration Team, working with the Parkinsons Specialist Nurses. If you are looking for a new challenge that will allow you to use your administration skills, we have a vacancy for 17.5 hours per week worked over 3 or 4 days per week, based at Princess of Wales Community Hospital, Bromsgrove, or Evesham Community Hospital. You will be working closely with your administration colleague supporting the specialist Parkinsons nurses, and part of a larger Administration team working with Specialist Neurology, Multiple Sclerosis and Spasticity Nurses. As part of the wider Integrated Neurology Administration Team you will be pivotal in supporting each other, particularly during periods of annual leave and absence. For this reason, the ability to travel between bases on occasion is preferable. Dealing with patients via telephone and email is an integral part of the role.
There will be provision for hybrid working as outlined within the Trust's Agile Working Policy.
If you would like to have an informal discussion please call Erica Wiggett on 0781549 7380 or Christina Whittenbury, Service Lead on 07525 918760.
Main duties of the job
Primary duties will include assisting colleagues with organising home visits and clinics at bases throughout the county, booking appointments and sending letters with regards to these in a timely manner. You will support the Parkinsons Nurses with audio-typing dictation, producing high standards of letters for Consultants, GPs, Patients and outside agencies. You will be required to occasionally minute meetings and make decisions about more complex administration queries relating to patients, escalating to Acute Trusts, GPs and other agencies, when necessary. You will be required to deal with telephone queries from patients and clinicians, and monitor and process email queries. There will be scanning and processing of incoming mail regularly in conjunction with other Administrators within the team. As part of the wider Integrated Neurology Administration Team, there will be an expectation to cover your colleagues' phones and generic email accounts during absence or annual leave. You will also be required to cover our Single Point of Access referral process on a rota basis.
The use of Carenotes, NHS Spine Portal, CLIP, and other patient information systems are part of the role and relevant training will be provided if required.
