Property Surveyor
Location: ST4 1RN Start Date: ASAP Contract Duration: 3+ months Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 hours per week Pay Rate: £375 per day PAYE
We are seeking an experienced Property Surveyor to join our clients team and manage a variety of maintenance and construction projects within the Corporate Property Portfolio. This role involves overseeing planned maintenance, refurbishments, adaptations, extensions, and responsive repairs, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Corporate Asset Management Plan and contribute to the protection and enhancement of the Council's property assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage maintenance and construction works, including refurbishments and alterations, across the Corporate Property Portfolio. Advise on design considerations for refurbishment and new build projects to ensure optimal maintenance regimes. Review and approve valuations, invoices, and financial statements during projects and upon completion. Liaise with contractors, perform site visits, inspections, and measure progress of ongoing work. Conduct measurements and valuations of completed work, including final accounts and detailed reports. Contribute to maintaining corporate properties to protect asset value and ensure efficient use of available funds. Adhere to all relevant legislation, including the Construction (Design and Management) regulations. Manage the Corporate Property Estate to protect the Council's interests and ensure properties are safe for use. Respond to emergency situations to make properties safe and oversee reinstatement work. Stay informed on relevant legislation, standards, guidelines, and industry information.Skills and Qualifications:
Strong project management skills with a track record of overseeing property maintenance and construction projects. Detailed knowledge of the procurement process, contract law, and building regulations. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant property management software. Analytical skills with a strong understanding of budget management and cost control.
