This intensive training post will equip the post-holder to provide interventions for children, young people or families using the core principles of the CYP Psychological Training Programme and consistent with the evidence base in the area of cognitive behavioural therapy.
The post-holder will work in the service, for at least 2.5 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme or undertaking self-study days for the remaining days, as required by the education provider.
The post holder will hold an appropriate training case load and complete the necessary assignments to meet the course requirements.

The CAMHS team (Child and Adolescent Mental health Service) in North Tyneside has an exciting opportunity to recruit one CBT Recruit to Train Trainee to join our team as part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded Children and Young People (CYP) Psychological Training Programmes (formerly CYP-IAPT).
Recruit to Train is a government-funded initiative aiming to grow the child mental health workforce to meet much needed demand. Successful applicants will gain experience of providing psychological therapies for children and young people using NICE recommended and evidence-based mental health treatments. As a trainee, they will also be expected to attend and complete CBT - PG Diploma in Evidence Based Psychological Therapy (CBT) training at Northumbria University, within 12 months, and gain the skills and knowledge to enable them to deliver High Intensity CBT Interventions. The training course with the University commences in January 2025, therefore it is essential that the trainees will be available for employment January 2025.
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months (to complete qualification) and there may be opportunities for employment once the course is completed but this is not guaranteed. The team values a supportive working environment, continued professional development and career advancement.
