Wood is recruiting for an Instrument Commissioning Technician (ICT) on a contract basis working outside IR35 for a minimum of 6 months to support on a key project within the Systems Integration team in our Digital Consulting business. This role is site based, located within Angus Scotland. Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. The Role The Instrument Commissioning Technician plays a critical role in delivering a high quality, consistent and competent instrument commissioning service in alignment with project and company requirements, industry standards and established procedures. The position is integral to ensuring the safe & efficient execution of all commissioning activities. As part of the commissioning team, the technician will be responsible for ensuring that all assigned work scopes are executed safely and efficiently with no adverse impact on personal, equipment or the environment. The role demands strict adherence to safety protocols, procedural compliance and technical specifications while supporting the overall project schedule and objectives. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate technical proficiency, attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality while executing all discipline-specific tasks in accordance with the project’s operational framework & best practices. Visit our web page to find out more about the exciting work we do: Automation & systems integration | Wood What we can offer Meaningful and interesting projects delivered to high profile clients across the Energy Sector Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion ; we are an organisation actively committed to diversity and inclusion across our business Global connections ; join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry, shaping the standards of our profession Responsibilities The key objectives for this role are: Under limited supervision, utilising technical skills to repair, maintain, calibrate and install electronic and electrical systems to current standards Conducting personal risk assessments and performing work activities under permit to work system Adhering to safety and environmental policies and procedures Providing technical reports and feedback via the computerised maintenance management system Solving instrumentation and electrical problems from initial fault diagnosis through to corrective action and implementation Completing routine scheduled inspection, testing and calibration procedures and associated documentation Modification and commissioning of both existing and new equipment Working as part of a team with other maintenance department personnel, operations personnel and management Assisting in the training and development of less senior I&E personnel Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Expected: The successful candidate should have a recognised apprenticeship or instrumentation/engineering qualification Must have experience in all aspects of instrumentation systems Must be eligible to work in the UK Good communication and interpersonal skills Desirable: Recognised Instrument qualifications would be an advantage Exposure to a chemical manufacturing environment and CompEx training would be an advantage Experience of IEC61508/61511 and safety instrumented systems would be an advantage, as would a knowledge of DCS/PLC Good I.T. skills to utilise various department software systems Completions system knowledge & experience of Hub2 technology
