Cross sector Aseptics Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking individuals with enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment to join our pharmacy division as Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians.
We are looking for an excellent team player who is flexible and self-motivated to train in our Aseptic Services & Dispensary Team. You will have a professional outlook and able to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.
This role is based at Manchester Royal Infirmary and includes rotations at all sites in MFT.

Qualifications: Minimum of 4 GCSEs grades A-C/4-9, which must include Maths, English Language and TWO science subjects preferably Chemistry and Biology (dual or combined accepted).
Please note: If you do not possess a Science GCSE but have completed a Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services and have at least two years of pharmacy experience, you are still eligible to apply but may need to complete additional assessment.
Ensure that all GCSE results are clearly documented on your application. If your qualifications were obtained overseas, please secure a NARIC certificate before the interview.
Key Responsibilities
Candidates will be required to carry out aseptic preparation including parenteral nutrition, CIVA, cytotoxic drugs, gene therapy and monoclonal antibodies from point of prescription receipt including accurately measuring volumes, following departmental procedures.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess The Following Skills
* The ability to work accurately and methodically and under pressure
* Have an excellent eye for detail
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
Engage in medicines management duties at ward level, such as medicines reconciliation, assessing patients' own medications and ordering medications.
Provide a high-quality dispensing service for all patients within the Trust.
Students will virtually attend college on day release to achieve the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practices for Pharmacy Technicians. This is a demanding role and will require study both in work and in your own time. The expectation is to dedicate at least 10 hours each week to facilitate the completion of your studies. You will receive full support from an Educational Supervisor and qualified pharmacy assessors to complete the qualification.
