This is a Full-time replacement Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist post within the Maudsley Centre for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders (MCCAED). This post is based in the Eating Disorder (ED) outpatient team, one of four clinical teams that comprise MCCAED.
Eating Disorder outpatient team
The ED outpatient team is a multidisciplinary team providing specialised care for children and adolescents with eating disorders, excluding Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) that treated in the other part of MCCAED.
Main duties of the job
*The job description is subject to college approval.*
1. Have accountability for the delivery of high quality and safe care, with the Clinical Director, Lead Clinician N& S CAMHS and Joint Heads MCCAED.
2. Lead the multi-disciplinary team alongside other Consultants leadership and influence others to meet service commitments and needs of children, young people and families.
3. Lead the development of service evaluation measures with the Clinical Director, Lead Clinician N& S CAMHS and Joint Heads MCCAED. Ensure that they are appropriately captured.
4. Develop and review clinical measures and outcomes with the Joint Heads MCCAED and the Clinical Lead N& S CAMHS.
5. To support and where agreed lead elements of development, improvement and innovation.

Job responsibilities
Duties of this post holder also include:
1. Consultant leadership and involvement with assessments, interventions, care planning.
2. All members of the Trust's medical staff are expected to practice within current GMC guidelines, in particular those contained within the booklets on Good Medical Practice and Maintaining Good Medical Practice.
3. The Trust has established multi-disciplinary clinical governance mechanisms that the postholder will be expected to participate in.
4. The service is actively involved in a range of quality improvement projects and audits.
5. The postholder will assist in the implementation of research and evaluation where required and support clinical staff in developing new research and evaluation projects.
6. The post-holder, as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in SLaM can contribute to the academic programmes for both CTs and STs.
7. Promote good links with Tier 3 and local outreach CAMHS.
8. The contract states that there is a requirement for all staff to have firm job plans.
9. The appointee will be managerially accountable to the Joint Heads, the Lead Clinicians, the Deputy Director and the Service Manager for National & Specialist CAMHS.

Eligibility
Essential
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
* Evidence for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within six months of gaining CCT in C& A psychiatry or Equivalent training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CESR issued by the GMC).
* Section 12 approved.
* Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
Training and Experience
Essential
* Experience in Outpatient/Community Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
* Experience of assessing and managing complex co-morbidities.
* Experience of assessing and managing child and adolescent eating disorders.
* Experience in child and adolescent eating disorder evidence-based treatments.
Desirable
* Trained in ADOS and/or ADI.
* Training in investigation of complaints and SIs.
* Experience of providing consultation to GPs, non-CAMHS practitioners and multi-agency work.
* Special interest in neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Trained in psychotherapy modalities for child and adolescent eating disorders.
* Experience of paediatric liaison and crisis care.
