We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated psychology graduate to work as an Assistant Psychologist (band 4) in adult community psychological services across North East Essex. The post will be based across the North East Essex specialist community mental health teams (Colchester and Tendring). This is an excellent opportunity to be part of dynamic and dedicated services and to gain experience of Applied Psychology in the NHS. The contract is 5 month fixed term.
The role centers on supporting qualified staff in the running of adult community psychological services. The post has been developed to promote the psychological health and wellbeing of people waiting for a psychological intervention to start. Under the supervision of a qualified psychologist, the post holder will offer safety and wellbeing calls to people who have been assessed and are waiting for either group or individual therapy. There will also be an opportunity to deliver meaningful psychological skills to people to stabilize their wellbeing and reduce risks. There will be an emphasis on securing outcomes from people that are accessing the service and contributing to associated data reporting as part of a quality and accountability framework. Because the post is embedded in the adult community psychological services team, the assistant psychologist role will gain wider experiences of assessment, formulation development, and intervention planning through working with qualified psychologists and clinical associates in psychology. There are multiple opportunities to access reflective practice and mentoring from colleagues.
