Trust Security Lead - Local Security Management Specialist (LSMS)
The Trust Security Lead - Local Security Management Specialist (LSMS) will lead and support the provision of a Security Service, ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
This role will act as the Trust Security Professional/Local Security Management Specialist (LSMS), providing strategic advice and guidance to senior management on the development and implementation of strategies, policies and procedures designed to maintain or enhance the security and safety of service users, staff and visitors within our sites and services.
Main duties of the job
1. Oversee the efficient operation, planning, and development of the security services.
2. Act as the Trust Local Security Management Specialist (LSMS).
3. Provide security advice and expertise to senior managers including directors and executive directors to ensure the Trust meets its statutory obligations in respect to Security management.
4. Provide technical, strategic and tactical advice and expertise to senior managers including directors and executive directors. This may be during the planning of any Trust activities or as a result of information received from internal or external parties that may have a Security impact.
5. Receive and analyze classified, highly sensitive, and highly complex information. Review security implications and determine the dissemination of that information within the Trust.
6. Act as the Trust's security expert ensuring that security issues are dealt with in a professional and timely manner. Give appropriate advice, judgement and referrals in line with national and local legislation and policy.
7. Responsible for handling and managing internal and external agencies' highly sensitive information with many partners and stakeholders including the police and neighbouring organisations.
8. Work closely with NHS local counter fraud specialists on incidents requiring joint working and/or assurance.

Person Specification
General
* Health and Safety knowledge and experience
* Can evidence recent and on-going personal/professional development
* An in-depth understanding of the Security management commissioning process and how this relates to working within an Acute Trust and with other partners
* Has current understanding and broad knowledge of the whole NHS context
* Significant experience of managing Security Services within multi-site services, within healthcare (or security related service) at a senior management level.
* Can demonstrate experience of managing major change projects with strategic and budget setting knowledge
* Can demonstrate evidence of setting and achieving ambitious targets and of implementing innovative solutions designed to improve Security Services
* Demonstrates strategic thinking whilst having the flexibility to be hands on dependent of the needs of the service.
* Highly specialised knowledge in relation to the management of security risks.
* Extensive knowledge of current security legislation
* Extensive knowledge of access control systems
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of managing CCTV systems Knowledge of relevant law; including Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (inc. Section 24 Powers of Arrest), Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000
* Experience of working to and reporting on specific NHS guidelines to include: Premises Assurance Model (PAM), Estates Returns Information Collection (ERIC), etc.
Qualifications
* Educated to Degree Level in Security Management or equivalent knowledge and experience
* Membership of a relevant professional body. i.e. Accredited Security Management Specialist
* Certificate in Education & Training
* NHS Security Management Service qualification or clear evidence of working towards this
