About the role…
As a Hire & Sales Negotiator you will be responsible for identifying hire and sales revenue opportunities. You will ensure customer requirements are properly defined, understood, negotiated and that Marwood Group can meet these requirements.
Key responsibilities…
* Receive initial enquiry or instruction from both existing and potential customers by telephone and email.
* Supply customers with information and advice on the suitability of plant and equipment available for hire and sale.
* Consult with plant and purchasing department for technical information and prices on non-standard enquiries and products.
* Negotiate with customers on current product hire rates, list sale prices and non-standard product prices.
* Consult with customers on requirements and raise computerised quotations. Follow up all quotations and ask all required questions.
* Forward customers new credit account applications and monitor for completion.
* Accept and process hire/sales orders and off hires.
* Enter all necessary details from the pro-forma documents onto the Marwood Group network computer system to create, amend or terminate contracts.
* Confirm all delivered hire and sale plant to live contract status on the network computer system.
* Process all received off hires and raise collection notes.
* Confirm all collection notes to off hired/partial off hired status on the network.
* Verify plant loss, damages and cleaning from returned equipment.
* Check all details of customers written confirmation order against verbally agreed contracts from our customers.
* Record full details of all lost hires/sales on our quality systems including competition, prices and full info.
* Conduct confirmation calls to customers to check on all deliveries made for quality of plant and service received and ask regarding any other business.
* Good news calls to customers regarding plant returned in good order and ask regarding any other business.
* Investigate invoice queries where required.
* If/when necessary, complete a customer complaint form on behalf of the customer and see the process through until the matter has been satisfactorily resolved.
* Full contract administration and archive of contract folders.
* Where necessary assist with yard procedures.
* Where necessary assist with system of plant checks and examinations.
* Any other duties as necessitated by your role within the organisation and the overall corporate objective of the company.
What we’re looking for…
* Minimum 1 year experience working in sales within the construction/material supplies/hire industry.
* Strong customer service background.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
* Works well under pressure and is a good critical thinker.
* Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
