Job Title: Principal Support Engineer – Strategic Weapons Systems (SWSS)
Location: Barrow-In-Furness, Brough, Filton, Coventry, Broad Oak OR Weymouth. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
1. Providing SQEP oversight, particularly for CMC/SWSS areas of the Submarine ensuring engineering-produced artefacts meet quality and compliance standards
2. Managing product configuration changes, documentation and traceability to maintain system integrity
3. Understanding and articulating the impact of good and bad configuration control and baseline management across all areas of the submarine combat system, the platform, its through-life support and the documentation
4. Configurating baselines and the processes and mechanisms to monitor and govern all aspects of products and systems throughout the engineering lifecycle
5. Configuration Management Plans and input to the Project Management Plan
6. Controlling baselines for design, support and project documentation
Your skills and experiences:
1. Degree in Engineering (ideally Systems Engineering) or a related technical discipline
2. Experience in SWSS (Strategic Weapons Support System) OR CMC (Common Missile Compartment) areas of a Submarine
3. Knowledge of the complete engineering lifecycle with some experience of operating in a number of phases
4. Knowledge of configuration management
