Receptionist / Administrator - Sevenoaks
* £20,000 - £21,000 per year
* Full time - 37 hours per week, Hours: 8.15am to 4.30pm
* Term Time only plus additional inset days
Our client, a reputable school in Sevenoaks, is seeking a friendly and efficient Receptionist/Administrator to join their dynamic team. As the first point of contact for visitors, you will play a crucial role in providing a welcoming and professional reception service. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the welfare and care of children.
Responsibilities:
* Greet personal visitors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
* Answer telephone calls and relay messages to staff via email or verbally
* Handle general email enquiries and follow up when required
* Maintain an organised filing system for student documents
* Undertake training on school communication and IT systems
* Update database with pupil attendance updates, working closely with the Attendance Officer
* Process and distribute incoming post
* Assist in coordinating internal events, ensuring smooth operations and effective stakeholder communication
* Undertake ad-hoc projects and duties
Health and Safety / First Aid:
* Provide basic first aid to students when needed (training will be provided)
* Comply with relevant health, safety, welfare, and statutory requirements
* Support the organisation's implementation of current statutory regulations, including child protection and equal opportunities
Requirements:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in using Outlook, Excel, and Word, including mail merges
* Experience with Bromcom is highly desirable, although training can be provided
Person Specification:
* Proven experience in administration, with accurate letter composition ability
* Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to multitask, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines
* Discretion, sensitivity, and diplomacy
* Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Ability to engage with personnel and children within a school environment
* Knowledge and experience of whole school procedures, organisation, and structure
* Familiarity with BromCom would be advantageous
Qualifications:
* A-level equivalent education with a minimum of a C grade in GCSE English and Maths
