AIM
To cater to a high standard and ensure that Residents receive good, quality, nutritious meals, which are well prepared and presented in accordance with the menu of the day.
FUNCTION
Responsible to the Registered Manager or their representatives to maintain a clean hygienic kitchen and ensure that meals are prepared to a high standard, presented well and served on time.
GENERAL COOKING AND KITCHEN DUTIES
1. Preparing meals and light meals for tea
2. Preparing coffee and tea for residents
3. Preparing alternative diets when necessary
4. Serving meals
5. Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen at all times
6. Maintaining all kitchen and catering equipment
7. Washing pots and pans and any other equipment used in service
8. Loading and unloading the dishwasher
9. Reporting any defects in equipment
10. Keeping accurate records in accordance with Safer Foods Better Business and other authorities
OCCASIONAL DUTIES
1. Making cakes for special occasions
2. Assisting with any special functions
HOURS FOR COOK
7.30am to 2pm x 2 shifts per week @ £11.50 per hour
HOURS FOR KITCHEN ASSISTANT
3pm to 6.30pm x 2 shifts per week @ £11.44 per hour
PERSONAL ATTITUDE
Person for this position will have a genuine interest in catering, they should be a team player willing to work to a high standard. Cook / Kitchen Assistant should be prepared to cover for their colleagues when needed for sickness and annual leave.
