Your Work Experience at EXP
EXP in Brampton, ON is looking for a Project Engineer for our Oil Gas & Chemical group.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
1. Manages and coordinates the progress of the engineering work, under the direction of the project manager in accordance with the project scope and schedule
2. Develop, coordinate and maintain project schedules to ensure cost, quality and schedule objectives are met
3. Develop and recommend improvements to project work processes
4. Participates in the development of project and engineering execution strategies
5. Manage and control the engineering budget and deliverables list
6. Prepare and validate project forecasts
7. Identify scope changes and request change orders in advance of performing work
8. Using established project management tools, measure on a monthly basis the progress of engineering, to ensure that the budgets and schedules are being met, and if necessary, take corrective action
9. Ensures that the review of documentation is carried out in accordance with the Project Instructions
10. Prepare project status reports
11. Ensure that interdisciplinary coordination is carried out in accordance with the Project Instructions
12. Set agenda and lead project meetings, including preparation of meeting minutes
13. Prepare engineering and construction work packages as required to support the execution of the project
14. Initiate a prompt identification and correction for any engineering issues
15. Oversee and manage the procurement requisition process, review bids and tendering documents to ensure conformance with the project scope and technical specifications
16. Develop, maintain and coordinate all interfaces with client operations groups
17. Work with department managers and Engineering director regarding staffing needs for assigned project
18. Support the identification and pre-qualification of subcontractors
19. Clearly communicate the engineering scope, including the technology and the design information, with team members in order to meet project requirements
20. Review drawings and develop scopes of work
21. Establishes and maintains a climate favorable to the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of the project engineering work
What your experience looks like
1. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
2. Registration as a Professional Engineer or eligible for PE registration is preferred
3. Previous EPC/EPCM experience preferred
4. Minimum 10-15 years of industry experience
5. Solid understanding of project management and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields
6. Working knowledge of cost, planning and control methods
7. Proficiency in a variety of standard project management methods and techniques
8. Ability to meet assignment schedule & deliver quality products under pressure
9. Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
