We are looking for an experienced chef to work in our cafe which is based on Blackfriars Street in the heart of Edinburgh. Our breakfasts are well known so we're looking for someone who can deliver high quality food at a fast pace and who is able to work on their own. It would help if you have creative ideas and are used to working with local produce and using old cooking traditions in a modern way.
We're looking for a part time prep chef who can work 3 evenings each week from 3-9pm. There is potential to learn and develop in this role and to become involved in a wide range of initiatives in the longer term. The salary is negotiable depending on experience.
You must be willing to work with the Head Chef to support the reputation of the Edinburgh Larder. To do so we are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
An enthusiasm for Scottish produce
A creative style of cooking
Strong skills in prep and minimising waste
A willingness to try new things and be open to learning
An ability to develop good relationships with the local community and our suppliers
Very good stock management and rotation
Health & safety training and a desire for a clean and organised working space
Fluency in English
