South Lanarkshire Council delivers a wide range of services that touch all communities and every household in South Lanarkshire. Property Services, which sits with Housing and Technical Resources, is responsible for the delivery of maintenance and improvement works to the council’s property portfolio.
Property Services is split between three service areas:
* Building Services
* Assets and Estates
* Consultancy Services
Building Services are responsible for delivering construction/improvement projects as well as undertaking maintenance works across the property portfolio. We are looking for a variety of Trade Modern Apprentices to join their team.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people who can demonstrate a commitment to their own learning as the successful candidates will be given the opportunity to become qualified Electricians through a mixture of on-the-job experience working alongside qualified/experienced tradespeople and off-the-job experience at college, gaining the underpinning knowledge and the recognised qualifications required for an Electrician. During your training, you will also develop your core and meta skills through the work you carry out.
Eligibility Criteria:
These vacancies are restricted to applicants who have recently attended a South Lanarkshire Council High School and/or live in the South Lanarkshire Area. You must be 16 years of age by 26/09/2025 and no older than 19 years of age by 06/08/2025.

Assessment Process:
All applicants are required to complete an online assessment as part of the recruitment process, which has to be passed to the required level for the trade you have applied for. Information regarding what applicants are required to do will be issued week commencing 17th March 2025, for completion by 4pm Monday 24th March 2025.
Passing this assessment to the level required will enable your application to progress to the shortlist stage of the recruitment process. The top scorers from the shortlist stage will be invited for interview, which will be held between Monday 19th May 2025 and Friday 30th May 2025. It is important to ensure you are available during this period, as rescheduling will not be possible.
