Job summary
We are looking for a forward thinking Receptionist (also known as Patient Navigators) to join our friendly team at Whitehouse Surgery and support all other functions in delivering outstanding care, utilising a variety of platforms including front of house (reception), back office support functions and telephone services.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate's will ideally have prior experience within a GP practice, and will be a confident communicator with a friendly and welcoming nature.
Note: This is a fixed-term 12month contract. Shift patterns will be discussed with the line managers during the interview.

Job responsibilities
The job holder will have to:
1. greet patients and visitors, advising them of their appointments and checking them in
2. advise patients on self-check in facilities
3. receive and make calls as required with the ability to handle heavy phone/patient traffic
4. divert calls and take messages as appropriate
5. sort, review and distribute incoming internal mail
6. process outgoing mail following the procedure
7. pull, file and photocopy patients paper records
8. scan and attach patients data to patients electronic records
9. ensure the reception area is left tidy and ready for use by other colleagues, together with any hand-over information
10. receiving all incoming deliveries, opening and distributing accordingly
11. complete the Surgery Administration, including registrations and deductions

Whitehouse Surgery is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built Health Centre, opento all Milton Keynes residents. We are located along the V4, between the H3and H4, with ample team offer the highest levels of care, as well as tailoring services to suitpatients health and wellbeing needs.Whitehouse Surgery is made up of GPs, Practice Nurses, Health Coaches, Pharmacists, Social Prescribers and Mental Health Workers, with further support from our PCN including First Contact Physiotherapists and Drugs/Alcohol Support in house. Our non-clinician team is made up of our practices Business Manager, Senior Administrator, and Receptionist team, with support from Medical Secretaries and Clinical Coders working in a centralised hub.
