We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Physical Education to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the PE team, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality PE lessons that promote physical development, encourage a lifelong love of sport, and foster a healthy, active lifestyle among our pupils.

As a teacher, you will support and challenge every pupil, ensuring her educational journey is both fulfilling and rewarding.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the Head of Junior School Sport in all aspects of the PE and Sport curriculum, including co-curricular and extracurricular programmes from Reception to Year 6.
2. Contribute actively to the delivery, development, and progression of the PE and Sport curriculum and co-curriculum.
3. Assist in the planning and preparation of programmes of study, regularly reviewing them with the Head of Sport and the Deputy Head Academic to ensure effective and efficient learning.
4. Plan, assess, and provide feedback (verbal, written, and via virtual learning platforms) on pupils’ work and report on their progress.
5. Support and participate in the organisation of fixtures, including coordinating transport, catering, and logistics.
6. Organise, lead, and support extracurricular provision, including before and after school clubs such as swim squad and cross country, to ensure a broad and inclusive range of opportunities for all pupils.
7. Work collaboratively with staff members, including the Head of Sport, PE Assistant, Head of EY & KS1, Head of KS2, Deputy Head, Deputy Head Academic, Assistant Head Co-Curricular, SENCO, and Head of Junior School, to support the wellbeing and development of pupils.
8. Maintain close collaboration with the PE Department across both the Junior and Senior School to support whole-school initiatives and aims.
9. Communicate effectively with parents, both in writing and verbally including during Parents’ Evenings and meetings.
10. Keep the Head of Sport and the Junior School Senior Team informed about parental meetings and pupil concerns.
11. Write reports on pupil progress setting clear, constructive targets.
12. Organise educational visits and residential trips that support and enrich the PE and Sport curriculum.
13. Oversee the Junior Duke Award programme.
14. Supervise pupils before school, during breaktime, and lunchtime in accordance with staff rotas.
15. Participate in whole-staff INSET training and attend relevant CPD courses.
16. Undertake additional responsibilities relevant to the role, as reasonably assigned by the Head of the Junior School.
Person Specification
Experience & Knowledge
1. A BA(Ed), B.Ed, PGCE, or QTS teaching qualification with appropriate training and experience across the primary age phase.
2. Awareness of current educational developments and best practices in EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
3. Commitment to co-curricular activities, fixtures, and events before school, during the school day, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
4. Passion for supporting pupils of all abilities to reach their full potential.
5. The ability to inspire enthusiasm for learning and physical activity.

1. Proven track record of excellent practice and high-quality teaching across a range of year groups.
2. Experience in adaptive teaching and curriculum development to meet diverse learning needs.
