The Communications Technology & Mathematics subject area within the School of Computing and Digital Media provides a range of UG, PG and short courses in the discipline of Computer Networking and Cyber Security. Our aim is to equip our diverse students with the academic, problem solving, technological and workplace skills necessary to enter the employment market. ABOUT THE POST The School of Computing and Digital Media is currently recruiting for a Lecturer in Computer Networking & Cyber Security area to deliver a high-quality teaching and learning experience and to carry out high standard research. We are seeking a highly motivated applicant who will contribute to teaching, assessment and associated administration involved in delivering modules in Computer Networking and Cyber/Cloud security, covering both PG and UG levels. You will be expected to prepare, deliver, and assess coursework, assignments, examinations, and project work. You will assist in the development of courses in these areas and deployment of retention, progression and achievement strategies which enhance the student experience in the relevant courses. Applicants will be expected to teach in the summer term of the university's teaching calendar and should be willing to teach our short courses (evenings and weekends) covering various subjects in networking, cyber and cloud security. At UG level the successful applicant is expected to contribute to teaching of the modules such as Network and Cyber security, Python for network programming. At PG level the successful applicant is expected to contribute to teaching of the modules such as Digital Forensics, Security Auditing and Penetration Testing, Cloud Technology, Cloud Cybersecurity (Palo Alto), Network Routing Protocols, Switched Networks. THE CANDIDATE You will be a PhD holder, with a strong background in Computer Networking and Cyber Security subject area having a good research output capable of being rated at 3 or 4.
